Statement
Memories and the experiences of daily life are important sources for my work. I am continually exploring the relationship between color, form, emotion and music and the combined associative qualities they share in common. I feel the experience of color is both visual and tactile and can include the other senses as well. As with sound, its effect is immediate, significant and resonating.

"Several artists exhibit that kind of personal visual shorthand, inviting the viewer to decipher its mysteries. Ellie Kahana, for example, offers `Organic Geometry #1' as an exercise in transformation. Her forms hover between hard and soft, anchored and floating, solid and ephemeral, pulling first in one direction and then the other." - Helen A. Harrison, The New York Times 1995
