I have found that moving back and forth between collage, drawing and painting encourages an immediacy of approach and a freshness of experience.
My collages are tangible accounts reflecting my involvement with contemporary experience and culture. They are both simple and complicated and like life are full of accidental and chance occurrences.
My onsite drawings and paintings have evolved into highly interpreted distillations dealing with “sense-of-place”. I alternate, back and forth between urban and natural settings and have found that all of my work thrives on these cross-fertilizations and the environment where I am working always influences what I do.
In all my work, I arm myself with an experimental attitude, step off the path and work in direct response to each particular location.
