Since August 2004, I have been working a large-scale, multi-media installation in a house in Newfoundland, Canada. Titled "The House Museum", the project looks at contemporary Newfoundland culture and how it is and will be changed by increased tourism. Like many of my previous projects, I am working in collaboration with the community where the project is located. Ultimately all the surfaces in the house and all the objects contained within it will be part of the project. Audio and video installations will be available to hear or view as you move through the space. The museum will have a gift shop and be host to regular special events. The House Museum will be open to visitors in the summer of 2006. Most of my other work also is site-specific, using hand knit or sewn fabric to create installations in public areas.
