My life experiences are the primary research for the development of my work.  I have always been interested in culture and the many ways that people respond to the riddle of human life on earth.  A US born sculptor, my involvement with Africa and particularly Mali began thirty-five years ago.  Since my 1995 Fulbright Research Fellowship, I have been spending extended periods of time in Mali for the last fifteen years engaged in a wide variety of cultural projects.  I have researched my own Eastern European Jewish genealogy for many years and been an activist for as long as I can remember.
