My work explores the relationship between the natural world and man-made structures. Most of my paintings have modern architectural influences drawn from custom homes I assist to design and I my husband builds.   Design inspired by some of the creators of modern architecture such as Wurster, Wright and Breuer – design intended to be harmonious with the topography of the world. Structural design done in an attempt to keep man from destroying his natural habitat. It is with this philosophy I live and with this I create.    I have finally found my simple point of focus that which is nature and man existing with man doing all he can to not disturb her peace.

Lichen is my latest abstract series depicting soft lichen covered mossy rocks, yellow fields of grass living among modern gray architectural structures in chaotic symphony. I call this series Lichen as lichen is beautiful yet it needs a devise to exist upon to survive like rocks – much like man needs nature to survive where as she does not need him.    Mans relationship with nature is vicious and possessive and may soon destroy her. It is this I struggle with daily and this that moves me to paint.
