After my education at the Art Academy in Sint Niklaas Belgium I try to develop myself trough travel while on-site work placements to achieve.
I’ve visited all continents and been able to work in New York, Paris and in the desert of Australia.
Urban Blue Oceans
I need to communicate by means other than speech or writing.
When writing, I keep judging, disapproving and rewriting my words.
When I speak, I often regret my words, and cannot later retract them.
I can only, at best, excuse myself.
Over and over again, the endless experimentations with color, forms, signs and symbols allow me to discover, and to reveal, what I have never seen before. On the one hand inspired by urbanization, and on the other hand by unspoiled Nature and her inhabitants, I hope my work will eventually lead to a kind of collective formula, that overrules symbolic systems like languages. And apart from any religious-, political-, and/or social environment, these paintings could then really make true communication possible.
Street Corners Manhattan A “silent” communication in the streets of Manhattan, consisting only visual perceptible fields of colors; marks and symbols upon buildings and other present objects in the streets. They are indescribable. They strike my eyes time and time again, like flashes of lightning. Several people descended from different cultures and each with a characteristic social-; religious- and / or political environment have made in the past in various ways these fields of colors; marks and symbols visible. Combined with plenty corrosion, these elements shape an abstract picture of “transcendental” formulas. Beyond the bounds of the experience it seems that the factor time becomes visible in an abstract shape. This not to identify formula hits me upon the idea that possibilities are hidden for making communication possible between different cultures in another, not yet discovered, manner. The composed street-images shape an incredible altogether. It should not be too difficult to find a jointly formula, that overrules symbolic systems and is standing apart from every religious; political- and / or social problem.
