Abstract art - manipulating canvas - keeping away from concepts, objects, figures - I feel a form creeps in I use the image to give the painting direction then remove myself from the constraints of these forms - a ghost appearing and then disappearing.
Painting for paintings sake - colors, shapes, lines, patterns juxtaposed with a random purpose.
Aggressive paint strokes against delicate organic forms - fresh paint on canvas - the first strokes give an exciting raw edge.
Do the opposite of what I was taught - paint like a child – don’t think. Paint "ugly", mix pigments, paint wet on wet, paint dry, put direction in corners going away from the canvas, create imbalance. Within these spontaneous parameters a natural balance occurs.
My professional goals are to exhibit and sell my work. I am dedicating myself to painting and look forward to accomplishing all the goals for a successful career.
